  1. Ever wonder why there is such a gap between all the hard work you do in providing Voice of the Customer and Net Promoter Scores to your internal partners and then not being able to see how that in turn results in enabling the company to improve their financial or operationals? With a veritable wealth of verbatim, Moments of Truth, customer feedback, and a trove of response and sales/marketing data and in many cases a very positive NPS alas, those departments still have no true understanding of WHY this is all happening and the levers and triggers that created those data points.

    Maybe you are missing something?

Organizations that have well-developed VOC programs consider feedback from every customer, respond immediately, and ultimately use what they learn to make improvements across departments.

Today, we’re sharing how you can leverage VOC data to improve customer service.

  6. As consumer behaviors and demands continue to evolve, brands are now focusing their efforts on delivering a good customer experience, even if that’s at the (slight) expense of the actual product or service they sell. In fact, a study by Gartner states that nearly 89 percent of companies are competing on customer experience alone.

And for enterprises to consistently deliver good customer experiences, they need to know the wants, needs and preferences of their customers, hence the rise of "voice of the customer" (VoC) campaigns — where brands aim to purposefully curate and act upon the voice of their customers.

  7. Fashion is an industry built on firsts. It’s not about now, it’s about what’s next. True fashion innovators don’t just stay ahead of the next trend, they set the next trend. Through a combination of intuition, instinct, acumen and creative flair, they keep ahead of the curve — predicting the “next big thing” in fashion and dictating it to consumers before they know what they need or want. But, when it comes to selling those signature styles to the masses — smart retailers know success requires meeting the right customer with the right products at the right time. Selling fashion isn’t simply a transactional experience, it’s a relationship. Building brand loyalty hinges on having a strong connection with the consumer, understanding their needs and meeting them where they are.

  8. The rise of artificial intelligence has led many people to believe that machines will take over many of the job functions in the marketing industry. However, when it comes to customer experience, the best results will occur when machines and humans work together, writes Dan Gingiss, VP of Marketing at Persado.

When people think of artificial intelligence (AI) and its technological cousin, machine learning, it often conjures up images of a robot taking over the job of a human. Indeed, “the robots are coming!” is a familiar refrain suggesting the human race will soon be invaded. If we can teach the machines to be as smart as humans, consume mountains of data in seconds, and continuously learn more at warp speed, isn’t the useful life of the human brain quickly coming to an end?

    The answer: Absolutely not.

  10. Sales is no longer a door-to-door business; you don’t get to ring the doorbell and tell customers they need you anymore. Now, they’re coming to your door, and if they don’t like what they see, they move on. So, how do you ensure they see the value in what you offer?

You have to understand their expectations not just of your offerings, but of their entire experience with your brand — from discovery to customer care. That means that “sales” can no longer stand apart from “marketing” or “service.” These silos must converge and create a continuous, intelligent customer experience (CX). Read on for steps you can take toward meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
