  1. Voice of the Customer (VoC) programmes are intended to capture the opinions and preferences of all customers, analyse those insights, and use them to create meaningful changes in customer experience (CX). Having a VoC programme in place has become increasingly more popular and essential, especially as more and more businesses (nearly 72% to be precise) continue to place CX as their top priority. So how do you know which type of VoC software is right for your business?

  2. A great customer experience is important in all industries, but in a world of ever-growing consumer expectations, it's critical for retailers. In fact, according to Forrester, "the key to successful retailing in 2018 is obsessing about customer experience." Many retailers are already "obsessed" with the customer experience, but the question is: are they acting upon this obsession?

  3. Many companies seeking to improve their Customer Experience (CX) understand the importance of putting the customer at the center of everything they do. Doing it, however, flummoxes them.

Not all companies have this problem though. Those that have excellent experiences, the kind that makes their brand name a household one, demonstrate actual customer-centricity in their CX.

  4. In the world of customer service, understanding your customers and their needs is critical to the success of your organization. That’s why it’s so important to listen to the voice of the customer and use your findings from doing so to shape your organization’s customer experience.

  5. It's fair to say companies have recognized the power of customer experience (CX). Think of the great lengths businesses have gone to provide features such as one-click ordering or same-day delivery. We at Walker predicted this in our 2013 report “Customers 2020,” in which we revealed a rise in the influence of customer experience and a decline in traditional methods of differentiation based on products and price. It appears we got that one right. CX is now widely considered one of the best ways to establish a competitive advantage.

However, it’s clear that not all companies have caught on. In particular, new research shows business-to-business (B2B) firms are not keeping up with these trends.

  6. Apple CEO Tim Cook last year said in an interview with CNBC the company's stock price should be the result "of doing other things well." Specifically, he cited customer experience and making sure customers are treated well. It's great that the CEO of a company closing in on $1 trillion in valuation values the customer so greatly.

  7. Employee engagement is crucial for any organization striving to become more customer-centric. It is also just as crucial for organizations to adopt a strong voice of the customer programme. However, it is rare that the employee and the customer’s voices are aligned to create and build the perfect crescendo.
