  2. Mobile marketing and advertising are about to change dramatically thanks to the rollout of 5G networks. In fact, because of this transformative technology, there will be 25 billion global IoT connections by 2025, tripling the current number while providing marketers with richer data sets.

That statistic was just one of many intriguing revelations at the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. While the mobile era is definitely here—by the end of 2019, mobile ads will represent 72 percent of all U.S. digital ad spending—it is about to shift directions at breathtaking speed due to 5G. With that in mind, here are four emerging, mobile marketing trends CMOs should have their eye on to prepare for the next decade of business.

  3. As Brits reach for their smartphones to ‘go shopping’, retailers need to be thinking mobile-first to provide those perfect customer experiences.

The state of the high street and retail spend in general is changing, but one particularly significant figure is that nearly half of online orders (48%) were made via mobile last Christmas – that’s up from 29% in 2017, according to Salesforce research.

Consumer behaviour has shifted and this is an indication of the importance of mobile in the wider context of the customer journey.

If designed well, your app can give you the upper hand in the battle for market share. Note: the key words here are ‘if designed well’. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case with all mobile apps on the market. Sure, they get the job done, but many of these apps still lack key features their users crave and a strong user experience. Fortunately, there is a remedy for these poorly designed mobile apps that will help put them back on top: in-app feedback.
