  1. Everybody is talking about customer experience (CX), but like many other hot industry terms, it can mean different things to different people. I like the Wikipedia definition: “Customer experience (CX) is the product of an interaction between an organization and a customer over the duration of their relationship. This interaction is made up of three parts: the customer journey, the brand touchpoints the customer interacts with, and the environments the customer experiences during their experience.”

Marketing definitely has a significant role in supporting each of these components. But the old adage that marketing gets the customer and customer service keeps the customer is overstated. A reputation for great service can help the company get customers and marketing has an important role in keeping them.

  2. How do you know if your customers are satisfied with your product or service? How do you know what you are offering is meeting your customer needs? Businesses need to know which channels to use in order to gain valuable customer feedback. The insight gained will inform the decisions you make going forward. How valuable is your product or service if it doesn’t meet your customer needs?

  3. The digital age has brought with it a horde of data. And coming from various sources and in large quantities, the availability of this data has created many new and insightful opportunities for digital marketers. Modern digital marketers are using data in a myriad of ways, such as gauging success (with Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs), driving improvement (e.g. campaign effectiveness or website usability) and boosting lead generation. However, this heavy reliance on intelligent marketing data necessitates an analysis solution, which comes in the form of dashboarding software.

  7. Brexit is getting closer and with negotiations still in progress, all of us digital marketers are out there watching and waiting with bated breath…
In times of uncertainty or turmoil, markets have the capability of evolving much faster than most digital marketers can adapt. This gap between how you see the market and the reality of what’s happening in the market will become a major hurdle in the coming years for many marketers. In fact, experts are even calling Brexit a wake up call for everyone in the digital marketing industry. So the question is, is your digital team ready to re-strategise when push comes to shove?
